Make-up Queen!

NEW December 23, 2010

Hey everyone I know I have been really bad about writing in this blog. But from doing some searching online I have noticed that there aren’t many blogs about staying fashionable while pregnant. I have decided that with the new year I will be making this blog a lot more about pregnancy sorry to those of you who are not interested but this is apart of my life now so…yeah. I am hoping to make fashion posts talk about making healthier decisons on what to eat and just about my experience with pregnancy in general I hope you look forward to it! Thanks so much for your support

If you follow my videos on www.youtube.com/hairandmakeuphowto then you already know the big news!! My wife and I are soo excited and so happy to be announcing this we have waited a few years for this and we are so happy and so excited!!

I’m just going to say it…. WE’RE PREGNANT!!!!

I want to share our little journey with you all so that you can know our background a little bit!

We have been together for just about 5 years, We met in high school when I was 16 and we have basically been together ever since. She is my soul mate and I feel so completely blessed to have found her and been with her so early on in my life. I’m not saying everything is always perfect and sunshine and rainbows but we work together and I love her more and more. We got married August 4th 2008 in San Diego, on Pacific Beach at sunset!! It was so romantic and was the happiest day of my life…until now!

We decided after we got married to try to have a child with a known donor (that’s what we felt more comfortable with) so we saw a doctor and had him show my wife how to basically do the “procedure” at home so that we could be comfortable and more intimate. We do/did have a known donor who basically gave his “specimen” to us and we would use a needle-less syringe with a tube on the end to insert it. It wasn’t working at home after a few months so I started freaking out and taking all natural fertility pills. I took those for about 6 months and it still wasn’t working so I stopped and we took a break my wife actually got into a bad car accident in august of ’09 she had broken her neck and was in ICU for a week she got out and we stopped for 6 months while she was recovering.

We started to try again around Jan of ’10 and we just were trying by tracking my ovulation. I tracked off and on like every other month to try to relax myself and eventually I just gave up on that we tried for a few more months and then we were going to go back and see the doctor. We decided to try for 2 more months then go to the dr and october we were just so fed up we just decided to completely relax and not think about it not care not really “care” cause after this month we were going to go to the dr anyway so we could get answers.

Well it finally took and I knew it from the moment it happened it was just different it was crazy then like a week later I had spotting which never happens that early for my cycle so it was odd and it was just really light and barely anything so i figured it was implantation bleeding and then I was cramping so I figured my cycle was coming. Well on Halloween we went over to my moms and I was eating candy like crazy which I rarely do even near my cycle.

I thought there were just so many odd things that I had to be pregnant so I went home found a pregnancy test from a few months back took it and it immediately showed up positive and it wasn’t even first morning urine or anything. So we ran out and got digital test to make sure we weren’t seeing anything I took another one that night and it said yes! and I waited to take the 3rd test the next morning and it said yes again so I went to the dr and the dr confirmed it!

Halloween Skully look October 27, 2010

When thinking of what kind of  Halloween looks to do this was for sure one of the first that popped into my mind!

I really love the whole skeleton “day of the dead” look. I chose a look that would be easy and simple. I chose to use things that you normally would have in your makeup collection.

Also for a costume basically an all black unitard- or if you wanted to be a bit more “fashionable” you could wear black leggings and a black shirt with the skeleton rib cage. Just a thought and super simple!! I hope you enjoy the tutorial!!

Society’s Perception of beauty October 16, 2010

Our society is obsessed with beauty. Not just any beauty, but perfect beauty. Our society enables an image that will never be able to achieve. A focus on beauty that is not only unrealistic, but also destructive in its ways.

I would never want to look like this, no offense to Stephanie (below) But it kind of scares me

Since beauty is considered everything, thousands and thousands of people strive for perfect beauty on a daily basis. More than once their great efforts result in horrible failure, which leads to feelings of inadequacy and depression. People aren’t good enough anymore, not just women, both men and women are determined me meet the scale of perfect beauty. Our society has lost touch with reality. We find fault in everything and everyone, including ourselves.

from a google search

Ask yourself this: “When was the last time you looked in the mirror and were happy with the way you looked?”

What do you hate about your image? Your deep-set eyes, dark circles, button nose, big ears, crooked teeth, tiny lips, and even big lips. Well stop focusing on the things you hate and look in that mirror  and tell yourself the beautiful things about yourself. Also begin to love the things you hate because that’s what makes you different from the person next to you!

I know your thinking “why are you writing about this you love beauty products and etc.” Well I do love beauty products and I do love looking beautiful however I do things my own way 100% of the time all the time. I do what makes me look and feel good. I’ll be the first one to say the way I look and dress and act are not always trendy or what’s fashionable or “in” but I am me and I love me!

Ally

Skin care October 16, 2010

I recently ordered  Decleor Paris brand of skin care products. Well I actually only ordered one thing which was the  Masque Peel-off (Reviel du Teint) It’s obviously French!

Anyway it is a “radiance revealing peel-off mask! I was so excited when I saw that it was a peel off mask because I haven’t been able to find one in a couple years not matter where I look.

This mask has essential oils and fruit extracts. It’s supposed to rid the skin of impurities and dead cells and make your skin visibly smoother and clearer. Which I think that it did once I peeled the mask off my skin felt smooth and it was really reflecting the light.

I took a picture with it on so you all could see

This is the bottle its kind of small but its worth it!

Hope you guys enjoyed this post about skin care!!

As you may know I make videos on YouTube and a lot of the other beauty “gurus” have bought make-up from Hong Kong. I myself had never done so but it really interested me. See I think its fun to see what their products are like compared to ours here in America. I think it’s just unique and exciting to have something from another country.

So with that said I ordered a few things from Ebay from Hong Kong and I wanted to share just a few with you  this has been acquired in the last week I actually should have some more coming this week I hope!

I hope you all liked this post if you have any questions please feel free to ask!!

First Halloween look 2010 October 14, 2010

I have been trying to decide if I was going to recreate some Halloween looks this year and I have decided I would!! If I didn’t, I know I would have been sad, because I really love Halloween and its so fun!!

So here is my take on Alice in wonderland the Queen of Hearts or the Red Queen!

Picture from: http://twothumbseightfingers.blogspot.com/2009/07/more-alice-in-wonderland-2010.html

So this is my take on the look:

Starting with the eyes and brows:

To create the eyeshadow look I used a homemade fix + and wet my brush and dipped it into  the lighter blue. Add that all over first use as a base, then I just added the darker blue pigment on top the same way.

For the eyebrows I just used a black eyeliner pencil and created rounded, not curved or shaped eyebrows, right where the blue stopped and slightly blended them together

For the lips I used a lip pencil from MAC in the color Cherry

I basically just tried to draw a heart on the center of my lips using my own cupids bow but enhanced.

So here is how the entire look came together:

I think it came out pretty well for it being the first time I’ve done it.

There are a ton of flaws I’ll be the first one to point that out but overall I loved it!

I got a good laugh at myself!
